Danny Gessel, President
Danny is the President of MHESA. He is a second year student studying Health Management and Policy student from Seattle, Washington. Before coming to the University of Michigan he attended BYU where he studied Public Health and Business Management. Danny spent the summer at Michigan Medicine with the Medical Group providing support with site activations, and other clinic operations projects. He is interested in improving clinical operations through Lean thinking and population health management, as well as increasing access, affordability and quality of care.
Dave Fife, Vice President of Operations
Dave is the VP of Operations for MHESA, with responsibility of coordination within the organization. He is a second year student studying Health Management and Policy. He comes to University of Michigan with a background in clinical information systems, and has added expertise in costing analytics and hospital operations through part-time jobs and his internship at Intermountain Healthcare this summer. He is interested in finding new ways to leverage information streams to improve management decision making, bring healthcare closer to where we live and work, and combat structural inequalities in health.
Julia Ioerger, Vice President of Communications
Julia is the VP of Communications for MHESA, with responsibility of internal and external communications for the organization. She is from Houston, Texas and prior to coming to Michigan, Julia attended Baylor University where she studied Psychology and Public Health. She spent the summer as an intern at Cleveland Clinic in the Office of Professional Staff Affairs where she focused on physician support service projects and strategic initiatives that spanned across the clinical institutes. Julia is interested in interdisciplinary healthcare delivery that bridges the gap between strategic initiatives and service line operations.
Rajisa Omar, Vice President of Finance
Rajisa is the VP of Finance for MHESA, and oversees the finances of the organization. She is a second year student studying Health Management and Policy. She comes to University of Michigan with a background in hospital administration and telemedicine. She is interested in the use of operational enhancements to improve care delivery processes domestically and abroad.
